Loubère takes KZ2 pole in the European Championship at Salbris

The 74 KZ2 drivers at Salbris returned to the heat of the action in the first round of their European Championship this Friday from 16:40 for their Qualifying Practice, divided into three sessions. The weather was very good in the Sologne with temperatures of about 20° and a slight north wind.

 

Pierre Loubère (Praga / TM) proved the fastest in the first session with a time of 57”780, which was only approached by Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART / TM) and Giuseppe Palomba (Intrepid / TM). Adrien Renaudin (Sodi / TM) took 4th place by more than 2 tenths, followed by Johan Renaux (CRG / TM) and Thomas Landais (Sodi / TM). There was disappointment for Paolo Ippolito in 12th by 6 tenths, and Rokas Baciuska (Sodi / TM) in 15th by 8 tenths.

 

Simone Cunati (Tony Kart / Parilla) set the fastest time of the second session with 58”160 on his second lap and Hubert Petit (Sodi / TM) was close at 0.072” back. Alessio Picini (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished 3rd by 0.175”, followed by Oliver Rasmussen (Kosmic / Vortex) and Arthur Carbonnel (CRG / TM). Emil Skaras (Energy / TM) in 10th and Alexander Schmitz (Tony Kart / Vortex) in 11th were 4 tenths away.

Giacomo Pollini (Formula K / TM) was ahead of David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex) by 27 thousandths in the third session with a time of 58”240. Tom Leuillet (Sodi / TM) was in 3rd place with his fastest lap earlier in the session, while Matteo Vigano (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished 4th ahead of Francesco Iacovacci (Luxor / LKE).

 

The conditions seemed to deteriorate slightly over time and the first session enabled Loubère to take pole ahead of three other drivers in this group, Longhi 2nd, Palomba 3rd and Renaudin 4th. Leader of the second session, Cunati ranked 5th, while Pollini took 6th place ahead of Renaux.
