Maloney sets the fastest time in OK at Sarno

The Qualifying Practice of the CIK-FIA European Championship of the OK category at Sarno took place under the Neapolitan sun in temperatures of about 25°. The drivers entered the track after half of the eight minutes of their session and only completed one or two quick laps.

Roman Stanek (Kosmic / Vortex) was the fastest in the first session with 57”206, although Hannes Janker (KR / Parilla) came back to within a hundredth on the last lap. Mattia Michelotto (KR / Parilla) took 3rd place ahead of Marijn Kremers (Birel ART / TM) and Christopher Lulham (Exprit / TM). Franck Chappard (Redspeed / Parilla) was 16th and Tom Joyner (Sodi / TM) 18th.

Zane Maloney (FA Kart / Vortex) improved the provisional pole in the second session with his time of 57”162, one tenth faster than David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex). Hugo Sasse (KR / Parilla) was 3rd in the session ahead of Luigi Coluccio (Birel ART / TM) and Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Parilla). Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) scored only 10th, and Alex Irlando (Sodi / TM) 13th. Evan Spenle (Kosmic / Parilla) finished 20th.

Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex) was close to pole in the last session with his lap of 57”170 within 8 thousandths of the pole. Dexter Patterson (Exprit / TM) followed him closely, while Noah Milell (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 3rd place ahead of Kas Haverkort (CRG / TM) and Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM). Jules Mettetal (Kosmic / Parilla) was 21st.

Pole position remained in the possession of Maloney, but RFM took a second double with the 2nd position for Thompson. Stanek finished 3rd overall ahead of Patterson in 4th, Janker 5th and Milell 6th.
