It has not rained so far at Lonato this Sunday morning of the Winter Cup, but the South Garda Karting track was slippery enough to require the use of wet tyres. A fine rain was beginning to fall just before the start of the first OK Super Heat.

Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM) took the lead, but Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) recovered the 1st place after four laps, while Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Parilla) returned to the leaders. David Vidales (Tony Kart / Vortex) was 4th by several seconds. Vincent Fraïsse (Sodi / TM) was quickly back in the top 10. Travisanutto accelerated the pace and passed Hiltbrand midway, taking 2nd 2” from Nielsen. Denmark’s KSM Schumacher driver reacted by posting a better lap and managing his advantage until the finish, a 1.1″ winner ahead of Travisanutto. Vidales had overtaken Hiltgrand to take 3rd place and Dexter Patterson (Exprit / Vortex) finished 5th. Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex) took 8th position ahead of Fraïsse, who started 18th.

Hannes Janker (KR / Parilla) took off from the start of Super Heat 2, while Jonny Edgar (Exprit / TM) and Oliver Hodgson (Birel ART / Parilla) took 2nd and 3rd positions. Ugo Gazil (KR / Parilla) drove a good race start by returning to 5th place ahead of Jorge Pescador (Praga / TM). Janker continued to escape in the lead, achieving the best lap on lap 4, Tom Joyner (Sodi / TM) then entered the top 10 while Lorenzo Ferrari (Exprit / Vortex) was noticeable in 6th place. Edgar went on the attack and reduced the gap with Janker for a moment, while Hodgson was dropped. Gazil overtook Roman Stanek (Kosmic / Vortex) to take 4th place ahead of Ferrari. Janker prevailed before Edgar. Hodgson finished 3rd by more than 5”, then Gazil 4th and Ferrari 5th. Joyner finally took 8th position.
