KZ2 Qualifying: Lorandi domination at Lonato

Bas Lammers (Lion Kart / TM), Ben Hanley (Drago Corse / TM), Fabian Federer (CRG / TM), Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART / TM), Jean Luyet (CRG / TM) and Lorenzo Camplese (Maranello / TM) stood out at the start of the first KZ2 Qualifying session of the 2018 Winter Cup. Paolo De Conto (CRG / TM) came back to 3rd while Longhi was fastest – 46”770 – against Federer. Hanley finished 4th in front of Rokas Baciuska (Sodi / TM), Antonio Fuoco took 8th position, Stan Pex (CRG / TM) shot up at the last moment in 10th place ahead of Tom Leuillet (Sodi / TM), with Lammers finishing 12th. It was the 15th time for Hubert Petit (Sodi / TM) and 23rd for Hugo Arnaud (Sodi / Parilla).

 

Alessio Lorandi (Parolin / TM) came closest to the 46” mark with Francesco Celenta (Praga / TM), but Alessio Piccini (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) crossed the line, while Andrea Dalé (CRG / TM), Mirko Torseillini (KR / Parilla) and Emilien Denner (Kali Kart / TM) accompanied them. Lorandi posted provisional pole – 46”735 – a tenth ahead of Celenta, Abbasse finished 3rd ahead of Alexander Schmitz (Tony Kart / Vortex), Torsellini and Jorrit Pex (CRG / TM).

 

Jérémy Iglesias (Formula K / TM) was the first to pass under 47” in the third session. Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / TM) took the lead, followed by Giuseppe Palomba (Intrepid / TM). Alex Irlando (Sodi / TM) pushed to fight for the lead with Palomba. Alessandro Giardelli (CRG / TM) came back to the top, but Leonardo Lorandi pulled out pole on the last lap in 46”693. Giardelli was 2nd, Irlando 3rd tied with Palomba, and Iglesias 5th by 86 thousandths. Pierre Loubère (Praga / TM) was in the top 10 in 8th place.

 

Longhi was 3rd in the overall standings behind the Lorandi brothers, with Giardelli 4th and Celenta 5th. Irlando and Abbasse followed in 7th and 8th places ahead of De Conto, Iglesias was 13th, Bacisuka 15th, Loubere 22nd, Denner 26th, Tom Leuillet (Sodi / TM) 33rd, Nicolas Gonzales (Maranello / TM) 35th, Lammers 39th ahead of Matteo Vigano ( Tony Kart / Vortex) and Adrien Renaudin (Sodi / TM), Oliver Rasmussen (Kosmic / Vortex) 43rd, Enzo Valente (Sodi / TM) 44th, Hubert Petit (Sodi / TM) 45th, etc.
