Since the last CIK-FIA event at Wackersdorf in 2014, the Bavarian circuit has undergone some changes. The most visible has no impact on the racing as it involves the construction of a road in place of the fir forest that bordered the site to the south, thus providing additional clarity and visibility at the Prokart Raceland. A footbridge has just been installed at the start line to please the photographers, or more simply for officials trackside. The very unsightly barriers required in the middle of the circuit during the very first homologation have been replaced by Tecpro protection blocks, more modern and much more aesthetic.

Thanks to the complete resurfacing in 2016, the grip is reinforced while the wear of the tyres has decreased. “Ver smooth going” according to some of the drivers. The recent DKM event has left some traces (or packets) of Vega rubber, but lapping by B’stones cleared all of this. The only unknown for now is how the grip will change in heavy rain. Stephan Fritsch took advantage of the opportunity to make small adjustments of the track at the last hairpin and the long straight before the finish, while the slight “S” between these two corners disappeared.
