Contrary to the forecasts of the previous day, the weather continued to be beautiful on Sunday afternoon at the Finnish circuit of Alahärmä. The Junior Final of the European Championship Round 4 was played on a completely dry track. The pressure was noticeable from the practice laps and the start saw some karts stay on the spot. The lead trio was consistent with the grid, Jack Doohan (FA Kart / Vortex) leading ahead of Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex) and Jonny Edgar (Exprit / TM). Doohan took a small lead while Edgar passed for 2nd on lap 4. Jose Navalon Boya (Kosmic / Parilla) was 4th, followed by Ilya Morozov (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Hadrien David (Zanardi / Parilla). A reshuffle then took place between the top six. Navalon fell to 7th behind Viktor Gustafsson (Tony Kart / Vortex), isolated in 6th position. Michelotto and Stanek were no longer on the track.

Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart / Vortex) and O’Neil Muth (Zanardi / Parilla) continued to climb from the back of the grid with 18 places gained by halfway. David was meanwhile 4th in front of Thompson, and Edgar threatened Doohan more and more seriously. The Briton surpassed the Australian with marked determination. Doohan replied two laps later by taking advantage of an open door by Edgar. Morozov then joined the lead pair. Edgar managed yet another pass four laps from the finish and immediately distanced Doohan, now followed by Morozov. The Russian went on to attack on the penultimate lap despite Doohan’s defensive strategy. Returning to 4th, Thompson also sneaked past and took Doohan out of the podium positions. David is a solid 5th place in the championship standings. Muth finished in 13th place with a 21 place gain.
