Did you know ? The Mika Salo circuit has shrunk during the winter!

Everyone believed until recently that the Mika Salo circuit at Alahärmä measured 1326 m in length. It was an acquired fact, of the kind to which one does not think to check. But the technology embedded in today’s karts, based on GPS, began to attract the attention of some of the drivers. By Ukko Ylijumala, could the track have shrunk without anyone noticing it? Could the Perkele devil be behind this sorcery?

The track measuring wheel – version 2017 – was clear: 1200 m. Not 1326 m, 1200 m, a point, that’s all. Don’t count on us to provide an explanation, such as a contraction of the ground in winter under the effect of extreme cold. We did not know anything about it, by Tapio!.
