Registration for the 2017 DKM has started

The German Kart Championship promises a lot of excitement in the new year. In addition to racing weekends on the best tracks of Germany, the big finale of the championship is going to take place in Italy for the first time. Everyone who wants to be a part of it can now find all the registration papers on the DKM website.

Standing still is going backwards – the people responsible for the German Kart Championship know that too. The preparations for the new season already started in the middle of 2016 and it’s going to be an attractive package again. The highest German kart racing series is again going to consist of the four grade series DKM (OK), DJKM (OK Junior), DSKM (KZ2) and DSKC (KZ2). The races are going to take place on five racing weekends in Germany and Italy.

The Schweppermannring in Bavarian Ampfing is going to be the first track this time. After that, the next event is going to be on the traditional track in Kerpen. The people responsible at the DMSB are working at full speed on the half-time race in Hahn/Hunsrück. The track is currently up for sale but advanced negotiations raise hope for a return of the DKM to the Hunsrück. In the second half of the year two highlights are then going to happen. Two weeks before the Shifterkart World Championship, the four grade series are going to guest at the Prokart Raceland Wackersdorf. The big finale is then going to take place in Italian Lonato for the first time. From October 20th – 22nd the final decisions regarding the fights for the titles are then going to be made.

The course of the events isn’t going to change much: Just like in 2016, all classes are going to start with Vega tires. Additionally the DKM is going to provide an extensive race-control and 16 hours of live images of every racing weekend as well as an extensive support program. The timetable for the three racing days is going to be slightly adjusted though.

The current registration papers are now available for download on the DKM website (www.kart-dm.de). Everyone who enters their registration papers before March 11th 2017 has to pay a participation fee of 2.300€ for the complete DKM, DJKM and DSKM season. The DSKC only costs 2.000€. Registrations after March 11th 2017 cost additional 300€ late-fee per DMSB-grade series.

Numerous information concerning the DKM also await the visitors of the international kart fair from January 28th-29th 2017 in Offenbach/Main. The German Motorsport Foundation (DMSB) is going to be in the Hall A1 – stall 14.
