Pescador holds off Ardigo in the first KZ heat

Jorge Pescador (Praga / Parilla) led the first of the two KZ heats from start to finish, but Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex), starting 10th and 4th on the first lap and was attacking by the end of the race. Kristijan Habulin (TB Kart / TM) did not last long in the leading group, going from 2nd to 18th place. Paolo De Conto (CRG / Maxter) managed to secure 3rd place while Patrik Hajek (Kosmic / Vortex) lost his 4th place in a daring attack from Rick Dreezen (Ricciardo / Parilla). This allowed Jérémy Iglesias (Sodi / TM) and Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) to complete the top five. Of the climbers, Jordon Lennox-Lamb (Birel ART / Parilla) gained nine places to finish 7th and Flavio Camponeschi (CRG / Parilla) regained in seven to finish 14th. Simo Puhakka (CRG / Maxter), Jonathan Thonon (Praga / Parilla), Lorenzo Camplese (Parolin / TM), Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM) and Joel Johansson (Righetti / TM) were on the list of retirements.
