It was the same scenario as it was in prefinal at the start of the final of the World KF Championship. Karol Basz (Kosmic / Vortex) kept the lead at the lights, but Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) fell back to 4th position. Tom Joyner (Zanardi / TM), despite a diffcult start for his engine, was 2nd ahead of Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM). Joyner attacked Basz to take control from the third lap. Basz responded. The top four were still together, and Jordon Lennox-Lamb (BirelART / Parilla) was 5th ahead of Richard Verschoor (Exprit / Vortex) and Martijn Van Leeuwen (CRG / TM).
Nielsen was close to Hanley, not easy to pass, allowing Lennox-Lamb to join them as well. Basz began to widen the gap before halfway, Lennox-Lamb attacked Nielsen, then Joyner. The battle raged between the three Britons, making it easy for Basz, now the leader by a solid 3”. Nielsen took until the 14th lap to overtake Hanley while the duel raged between Lennox-Lamb and Joyner for 2nd place. Nielsen made a beautiful pass on Joyner in the 17th lap and chased Lennox-Lamb, 6/10 ahead. But the Birel driver controlled the situation and did not let up for the Tony driver.
Basz put his feet up a bit at the end and greeted his first World Championship 3” in front of Lennox-Lamb who was not expecting such a treat. Nielsen finished 3rd, Hanley 4th, Joyner 5th. Verschoor took 6th position ahead of Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Parilla) and Van Leeuwen.
