The drivers in the KZ World Championship had to race in two heats each, or a total of three races, the first having taken place in the rain. The day, however, ended in bright sunshine. Marco Ardigo leads the ranking at the end of the heats ahead of Paolo De Conto and the very consistent Douglas Lundberg.

H1 AB: Ardigo imperious in the rain

Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) immediately took the lead and escaped with amazing ease. Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) took five places to 2nd on lap 4 ahead of Douglas Lundberg (Kosmic / Vortex) and Paolo De Conto (CRG / Maxter) who lost ground. Arnaud Kozlinski (Sodi / TM) also returned strongly to 6th place with seven places gained before halfway. Bas Lammers (Sodi / TM) dropped in the pack because of his choice of slick tyres. Ousted from the front, Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM) finished 11th. Jonathan Thonon (Praga / Parilla) crossed the line in 5th position after overtaking Andrea Dale (CRG / TM) and Kozlinski, who was hampered by a gearshift problem. Victory went to Ardigo ahead of Abbasse, 3rd by 9″.

H2 AB: Pex shows his advantage in the dry

Fast and starting well, Jorrit Pex (CRG / TM) won the second heat where he started from pole. Although he set the fastest lap, Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) could not fight for victory because of the sometimes intense battle in the pack. Douglas Lundberg (Kosmic / Vortex) confirmed his return to form by taking a good position ahead of Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) in 3rd, a little rough this time. Bas Lammers (Sodi / TM) has also borne the brunt of the robustness of the Italian and finished 20th after being was on the attack in the top five. Rick Dreezen (Ricciardo / Parilla) and Jordon Lennox Lamb (BirelART / Parilla) did not complete the race. Patrik Hajek (Formula K / Parilla) was able to finish 5th from Jérémy Iglesias (Sodi / TM), and Emilien Grosso (Tony Kart / Vortex) took an interesting 9th place between Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Davide Fore (CRG / Maxter ).

H3 AC: the last heat goes to De Conto

The first start went wrong for Loris Spinelli, who was ejected from his kart which went into a spectacular series of barrel rolls requiring a red flag. At the restart, Paolo De Conto (CRG / Maxter) maintained its 1st place. Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) retired on the second lap while his teammate Arnaud Kozlinski (Sodi / TM) was heading for a top five by controlling Andrea Dale (CRG / TM) to the end. The fastest driver on the track, Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) moved up strongly towards 2nd place, getting the better of Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM) after a good start. Rick Dreezen (Ricciardo / Parilla) was rapid in 4th position. Although very fast, Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) had to be content with 9th place after a difficult start. The latest news from Loris Spinelli was reassuring.
