The weather was overcast but dry for the KZ final at Genk, the last race of the 2015 European Championship. Jorrit Pex (Intrepid / TM) was immediately under pressure from Jérémy Iglesias (Sodi / TM) after the lights went out, Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex), a little less alert, was 3rd in front of Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) who then dropped to 11th. Simo Puhakka (CRG / Maxter) had retired already. Iglesias launched a superb attack on Pex and took the lead from the second lap. Rick Dreezen (Ricciardo / Parilla) successively passed Ardigo and Pex to gain 2nd place, 1.6 ” behind Iglesias. Menno Pauwe (BirelART / Parilla) got the better of Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex).

Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM) was faster than in the prefinal. He regained 12 places after six laps to 6th. The battle raged between Ardigo and Camponeschi for 4th place. After having lost more ground, Abbasse posted the fastest time, but soon returned to the pits. Dreezen could prove threatening to Iglesias and decreased his lead with every lap. Camponeschi got past to 3rd, Ardigo was 4th and Hanley 5th following the fall of the former in 7th position.

At halfway, Iglesias led by 4/10 ahead of Dreezen, Ardigo and Camponeschi were 1.6” ahead and Hanley returned to them, setting the fastest time in the process. Iglesias manages to maintain the gap to Dreezen and even increased the distance slightly. Hanley was closer to Ardigo, both drivers fighting for 2nd place in the championship. The finish saw a superb win for Iglesias ahead of Dreezen and Camponeschi, the European champion. Ardigo finished 4th and took 2nd place in the championship over Hanley.
