Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) is assured of winning the European KZ Championship (unless excluded) since the meeting at Zuera. The battle for 2nd place is between Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM). For Hanley, the only solution to reach second in the championship is to win the final or finish 2nd but ahead of Ardigo. The situation is even more uncertain for 4th position: Patrik Hajek (Formula K / Parilla), Jordon Lennox-Lamb (BirelART / Parilla), Jorrit Pex (Intrepid / TM), Arnaud Kozlinski (Sodi / TM), Simo Puhakka (CRG / Maxter) and Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) have a shot at it with varying chances.

The KZ2 title may be fought to the end between Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Maxter) and Joel Johansson (Energy / TM). To be crowned, the Swede must finish in the top three. The Spaniard will start from 23rd position in the prefinal if his penalty of 30” in the last heat is held. He could possibly counter the threat from Johansson by winning the final, if not 2nd. The Energy driver therefore has the outcome of the championship in his hands. Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / Vortex), Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Felice Tiene (CRG / Maxter) have the ability to take 2nd place but can also affect the title. The sportingness of the event will be watched closely … There is a risk of rain which may play a role in the unfolding of the races on Sunday at Genk, especially as drops began falling in the early morning.
