KF pole position at Portimao for Vartanyan ahead of Joyner and Tiene

Alexander Vartanyan (Tony Kart / Vortex) of Ward Racing led the first timed session for KF at Portimao. Tom Joyner (Zanardi / TM) from Strakka Bhaitech stole the lead at the end, but Vartanyan was able to finish in the lead with a last lap of 56”545, or 24 thousandths ahead of Joyner. Andreas Jochimsen (Kosmic / Vortex) from Storm Team finished 3rd in front of Marcu Dionisios (Tony Kart / Vortex) from Ward Racing, Tom Bale (FA Kart / Vortex) from RFM in 5th and Alexandre Gadois (Kosmic / Parilla) of VDK Racing in 6th.

Uncertain to the end, the second session finally saw Felice Tiene (CRG / Parilla) on 56”610 in front of Benjamin Lessennes (CRG / Parilla) and Karol Basz (Kosmic / Vortex). Aatu Moilanen (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished 4th for Ward Racing, followed by Juri Vips (FA Kart / Vortex) from RFM and Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) who had been running in the top places up until two laps from the end.

Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM) fought at the front from the beginning of the third session and finished 1st after a lap of 56”634, while Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex) from Baby Race took 2nd place by 35 thousandths. In 3rd position, Casper Roes (FA Kart / Vortex) of RFM was top rookie ahead of Anton Haaga (Tony Kart / Vortex) of GRT Racing, and Maxime Potty (Kosmic / Vortex) ASBL took 7th place.

Vartanyan was not dislodged from pole position in KF, Joyner was 2nd and Tiene 3rd. Hanley climbed to 4th place overall ahead of Jochimsen.
