Of the 169 drivers entered in the double World Championship at Essay, 161 are actually present at the track for the start of free practice, 89 in KF-Junior and 72 in KF. The Juniors will therefore compete in two prefinals before reaching the final, while their elders will have a Repechage for those not in the first 28, then one prefinal. Apart from the absence of Sean Babington, there are no other notable defections. Some equipment changes have been made since the publication of the first official entry list.

In KF, Forza Racing has swapped its TM engines for Parilla for Stupenkov and Shlom, and Wiktoria Pankiewicz is using a Vortex this time, as well as her sister Julia who has left her LKE in KF-Junior. In this category, Ross Martin is new at Energy Corse and Ulysses De Pauw at ART GP. The TB Kart team, not racing at PFI, have replaced their LKEs with Vortexes. However, Marta Garcia Lopez is now using a LKE engine instead of its Parilla on her Zanardi. Christian Lundgaard is trying PCR chassis. That’s it for the last-minute changes.
