What a spectacle! The four KF qualifying heats run so far would probably have had a good reception from the general public looking for a circus. Rarely has there been so many crashes at the start, the track cut off, and more or less serious pushing, in the category that gathers the elite of international karting, as well as Kevin Lavelli’s accident in the third heat, which needed a red flag while he recovered.

One may wonder where the sporting value is in this kind of show … The first two heats on late Friday afternoon set the tone, the red flag didn’t do much to calm the spirits, but no penalties have been given to curb the negative passions. In these circumstances, the conduct during the races is not surprising. A black flag was waved in the 4th, probably deserved, but its sudden appearance after many incidents left unpunished, leaves a bitter taste for some participants.
