Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex) seized first position initially in the first qualifying session in KF ahead of Karol Basz (Tony Kart / Vortex). Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart / Vortex) retired after two laps, the victim of a sliding tyre. Callum Ilott (Zanardi / Parilla) accelerated at the end of session and took 1st place with a lap of 1’01” 247. Nielsen fought against Basz to snatch second position, Tom Joyner (Zanardi / Parilla) was beaten on the wire by Karol Dabski (Praga / Parilla), while Wiktoria Panckiewicz (Tony Kart / TM) finished sixth.
Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / TM) was running at the front of the second session with Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) and Felice Tiene (CRG / TM). Niko Kari (Tony Kart / Vortex) joined them in the lead. Norris eventually finished top with 1’01” 398, ahead if Kari who had dislodged Tiene. Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex) was 4th and Marco Maestranzi (Top Kart / TM).
It can reasonably be deduced that the conditions were slightly better for the first session, which doesn’t take anything away from Callum Ilott, the polesitter in KF ahead of Nicklas Nielsen and Karol Basz. Lando Norris was “only” in front of Kari in 4th, Tiene was 6th, Dabski 7th, Joyner 8th, Wiktoria Panciewicz 9th and Daruvala 10th.
The top French driver was Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / TM) in 15th, then Julien Darras (Kosmic / Vortex) 28th, Nicolas Gonzales (Kosmic / Parilla) 42nd and Aubry unhappy in 57th.
