Prefinals KZ2: Kozlinski and Ardigo the winners

Prefinals KZ2: Kozlinski and Ardigo the winners

Arnaud Kozlinki (Intrepid / TM) made a good start in Prefinal-A in KZ2 while Rick Dreeezen (Zanardi / Parilla) hesitated, so Jonathan Thonon (Praga / Parilla) and Jan Midrla (Birel / TM) took the opportunity to go 2nd and 3rd. Kozlinski stayed ahead of Thonon in second, Dreezen took back 3rd place from Midrla, and Andrea Hansen (Tony Kart / Vortex) approached in 5th position. Kozlinski had a small gap to Thonon, who was threatened by Dreezen for a time before he lost 2 places. The Belgian then reeled the French driver back in in mid-race.

Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM) had overtaken 5 places, and was now 6th close to Hansen. Jérémy Iglesias (Lenzo / LKE) was in seventh position for a few laps, followed by Mirko Torsellini (ART GP / TM) and Davide Fore (CRG / TM). Hanley overcame Hansen and took 5th place on lap 10. Thonon didn’t release the pressure on Kozlinski, but he stood up to it well and won the race. Midrla took 3rd place and Dreezen 4th after managing to contain Hanley.

It was a 100% Tony Kart front row for Prefinal B. Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) started well ahead of Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex), followed by Patrik Hajek (Praga / Parilla), Bas Lammers (Formula K / Parilla ), Douglas Lundberg (Alpha / TM) and Paolo De Conto (Birel / TM) who passed quickly for 5th and was not stopping there. He passed Lammers on lap 3. Ardigo was slightly distanced from the melee behind him. Shortly before halfway Hajek had to yield to De Conto, which lost him 3 places, as he was also passed by Lundberg.

Lammers became more insistent and passed De Conto on lap 10. At this stage, Ardigo was 1” ahead of Camponeschi who was himself 5/10 ahead of Lammers, and De Conto who dropped the pace. Hajek succeeded, not without difficulty, to overtake Lundberg who now had to contend with Jorge Pescador (Praga / Parilla). Lammers attacked Camponeschi under braking with two laps to go. Ardigo won ahead of Lammers and Camponeschi, De Conto was 4th, Hajek 5th and Lundberg 6th.
