Castelletto KF prefinals go to Daruvala and Lorandi

Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) and Karol Basz (Tony Kart / Vortex) went ahead of Kevin Rossel (Tony Kart / TM), Niko Kari (Tony Kart / Vortex), then Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex), and Yan Shlom (Tony Kart / TM) fought with Xia Yifan (Tony Kart / TM) for 5th place. Basz put pressure on Norris, Kari passed Rossel and closed back up to the leaders. Karol Dabski (Praga / Parilla) lost a lot of places on the first lap. Daruvala overtook Kari and attacked Basz before halfway. Norris took the opportunity to take a lead of a second.

Norris saw his lead diminish, Kari followed second-placed Daruvala closely, and Xia was in the wake of Basz and Marco Maestranzi (Top Kart / TM). Daruvala took Norris with two laps to go, and Kari after him. Daruvala escaped and Norris took back 2nd place ahead of Kari then Basz finished 4th, Maestranzi 5th, and Bertonelli 6th. Julien Darras (Energy / TM) qualified for the final in 11th place.

The first lap was lively in Prefinal-B behind Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / TM). Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex) attacked Martijn Van Leeuwen (Zanardi / Parilla).

Then Nielsen started hunting down Lorandi while Tom Joyner (Zanardi / Parilla) and Felice Tiene (CRG / TM) passed Mazepin. Gabriel Aubry (Tony Kart / Vortex) was already making his comeback in 11th from the 21st position he started from.

Lorandi escaped irretrievably, Joyner took 2nd place from Nielsen, Tiene was 4th and also attacked Nielsen and was just sticking to Joyner’s wheels, Egor Stupenkov (Energy / TM) was 5th, Mazepin 6th and Aubry 7th. Lorandi won the race easily, and the duel between Joyner and Tiene didn’t start until the last lap when the Italian attacked the British driver for 2nd place. Nielsen was isolated in fourth position, but Aubry, unleashed, passed Mazepin and Stupenkov to finish fifth.
