CIK 2013 KF-Junior International Super Cup: Second success for Norris

Always very fast, Lando Norris (FA Kart-Vortex-LeCont) had mishaps in the qualifying heats before coming back to third in the prefinal and he won the final. The polesitter and leader in the intermediate classification, the Italian Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart-Parilla-LeCont) lost all of his chances in the prefinal by going off the track on the last lap during a failed attack. Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart-Vortex-LeCont) marked the event with his speed as well as his aggressiveness on the track which earned him several penalties. Climbing from 16th to 1st place in the final, he was deprived of his victory for a bad move when overtaking.

Regularly in the top three of the class throughout the weekend, Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart-Vortex-LeCont) reaped the fruits of his efforts by finishing second in the competition. This is the first time we saw the German Mick Betsch (Tony Kart-Vortex-LeCont) finish a CIK race in third position. He was quite convincing in his return to the leading group after having to retire in the last race. There was disappointment for the Russian Robert Schwartzman (Tony Kart-TM-LeCont) starting on the front row for the final, but was forced to retire after a collision.
