The first race of the 2014 season showed Praga Kart Racing’s ambitions in KZ this season. The two top drivers at the team held top rankings throughout the first round of the WSK Champions Cup, on the Praga Dragon with an IAME Parilla motor, at the La Conca International Circuit.

After setting the second fastest time in timed qualifying, Jonathan Thonon negotiated the heats in the top three with a victory to take the lead in the intermediate classification. Meanwhile Patrik Hajek followed in his footsteps to 3rd place. While the Czech driver retired in the prefinal with an engine problem while attacking his teammate in second position, the Belgian continued his momentum and won the race. Thonon was also on course to win the final when he had to retire due to a technical problem. Hajek meanwhile regained nearly 20 places to finish just outside the top 10.

But the official Praga Kart team was also racing in the other categories. Karol Dabski achieved the best performance in KF at an excellent level for this first race, while Marino Sato and Joel Johansson improved significantly in the final. Young Lukas Podobsky and Rasmus Lindh performed well in their interesting debuts in KF-Junior.
