KFJ: Mick Junior wins Prefinal A madness

Big raindrops fell on the La Conca track at the start of Prefinal A in KF-Junior. There was carnage on the first lap so the race director launched the “slow” procedure. From 14th place, Tommaso Mosca (Tony Kart / TM) took the lead ahead of Mick Junior (Tony Kart / Vortex), Kush Maini (Tony Kart / TM) in 3rd, Ye Yifei (ART GP / TM) 4th, Giuliano Alesi (Tony Kart / TM), who started 23rd, was 5th. Leonardo Lorandi and Alexander Vartanyan were among the victims of the first lap, Devlin DeFrancesco (Tony Kart / Vortex) lost 17 places,

and Max Fewtrell (FA Kart / Vortex) 6 places.

The race resumed on the fourth lap, with the rain stopped. Maini made a mistake, Mosca led ahead of Mick Junior, Yifei, Alesi, Joona Eriksson (Kosmic / Vortex) and Fewtrell who quickly took back 4th position. De Francesco moved back fast to 8th position. Alesi rejoined after a black flag with orange circle when he was 5th! Mick Junior put pressure on Mosca, Fewtrell was third by more than 2 seconds and De Francesco passed for fifth and set the fastest lap. Alesi now saw the black flag. Mick Junior found the opening on Mosca on the last lap, and the duel lasted until the finish line. Mick Junior won ahead of Mosca, Fewtrell was third in their wheeltracks, 4th was DeFrancesco almost 3” ahead of Yifei and Lundgaard.
