De Conto wins in KZ2 ahead of Lammers

Andrea Dale (CRG / Maxter) had problems in the formation lap of the KZ2 final of the Winter Cup, but an extra lap allowed him to regain his place on the front line next to Paolo De Conto (Birel / TM). However De Conto took the lead ahead of Bas Lammers (Formula K / Parilla) and Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM). Behind Dale, in 4th, were Marco Zanchetta (Maranello / TM), Mirko Torsellini (ART GP / TM), Douglas Lundberg (Alpha / TM) in 7th, Arnaud Kozlinski (Intrepid / TM) in 8th and Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex ) in 9th. Beitske Visser (DR / TM) gained over 14 positions in four laps, he was 15th ahead of Davide Fore (CRG / TM). Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) was 21st after his start from the back of the grid. Thomas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex) was one of the victims of the first lap.

Zanchetta grabbed 4th place from Dale on lap 4 and Torselllini overtook his teammate Hanley. De Conto and Lammers began to escape ahead of Zanchetta. Camponeschi and Kozlinski overtook Lundberg now followed by Jordon Lennox-Lamb (CRG / Maxter). In the lead, Lammers put pressure on De Conto, and Zanchetta and Dale were not far away. At that point Dale attacked and Zanchetta found himself 10th … It was atmospheric … Hanley returned to 4th, followed by Camponeschi, Torsellini and Kozlinski who was more incisive. The French driver was getting impatient behind Torsellini who was holding him up in the winding sections. Lennox closed up to Lundberg so there was a foursome to watch.

With four laps to go, Lennox passed Lundberg for 8th place, Lammers was closing on De Conto again, Dale, still third was not far off. But the end result remained unchanged, each defending his position on the last two laps. De Conto won the race ahead of Lammers and Dale. Hanley finished 4th, Camponeschi 5th, Torsellini 6th, Kozlinski 7th, Lennox-Lamb 8th, Lundberg 9th and Zanchetta 10th.
