Lorandi wins the Winter Cup in KF

Nicklas Nielsen (Kosmic / Vortex) and Oliver Hodgson (Kosmic / TM) took the top two positions of the KF final, but Karol Basz (Tony Kart / Vortex) got between them immediately, while Martijn Van Leeuwen (Zanardi / Parilla) took 4th ahead of Felice Tiene (CRG / TM). Nikita Sitnikov (ART GP / TM) took 5th place, followed by Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / TM), Nikita Mazepin (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex). Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / TM) was at the front on the first lap, but was jostled. Stefano Cucco (Birel / TM) was in a distant 26th position.

Basz then attacked Nielsen who replied, Van Leeuwen took the opportunity to close up on them with Sitnikov. Lorandi was 5th, Tiene 6th, Hodgson 7th. Van Leeuwen passed Basz for second, but nothing was secure in the trio, especially as Sitnikov was caught by the rest of the chasing pack. Van Leeuwen made a successful attack on Nielsen on the 11th of 25 laps, and Basz who tried to seize the opportunity dropped to 7th. Lorandi put his nose into 3rd position passing Nielsen who was losing ground. Tiene took third, and Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM) made his appearance in the top 5.

Lorandi attacked, taking the lead from Tiene with Sitnikov 3rd, Van Leeuwen 4th and Hiltbrand 5th. Kevin Rossel (Tony Kart / TM) was in front of Nielsen in 7th then he closed on Basz in 6th. There was a shirt break in the position changes, as we were preparing for the final laps. Tiene narrowed the gap on the leader Lorandi, Van Leeuwen and Rossel gathered behind Sitnikov, and Basz reeled in Nielsen.

Lorandi reacted and pulled out over 3/10 between him and Tiene, Hiltbrand had some karts lengths margin to Sitnikov and his followers. Positions remained unchanged over the finish line with Lorandi the winner ahead of Tiene and Hiltbrand on the 3rd step of the podium. Sitnikov finished 4th, Van Leeuwen 5th, Rossel 6th, Basz 7th and Nielsen 8th.
