DD2 Qualifying: Formal ahead of Cooper

The air temperature was approaching 13 ° C and the track rose to over 20 ° C under the sunlight at the end of the day devoted to qualifying, while the wind dropped sharply. The DD2 started with the odd session. Luca Canderie (RSA) monopolized the beginning of the session before everyone got into the rhythm. Pier-Luc Ouellette (CAN), and Thomas Arme (GBR), Sean Babington (GBR) were at the top of the rankings. Alexandre Finkelstein (FRA) moved into the top eight. Maxime Gravouille (FRA) finished 18th. Ouellette kept first position with a time of 54” 059 despite the efforts made at the end from Sean Babington, who finished 58 thousandths back. Philippos Kalesis (GRE) then took the lead ahead of Mathias Detige (BEL). While Formal contained Kazimieras Vasiliauskas (LTU), Ben Cooper (CAN) returned to the action. Mika Laiho (FIN) came back to 4th from Brendan Nilson (AUS). Formal set the fastest time of the session with 54” 010, or 41 thousandths better than Cooper, and Vasiliauskas stayed 3rd ahead of Laiho and Nelson.

Pole in DD2 went to Daniel Formal ahead of Ben Cooper and Pier-Luc Ouellette, Vasiliaukas moved up to fourth, Babington fifth, Laiho 6th, Nelson 7th, Detige 8th, Juodvirsis 9th and Wagner 10th.
