The weather was still beautiful at Varennes for the Final of the International Super Cup in KZ2. Daniel Bray (GP / TM) the New Zealander was on the front row next to Dorian Boccolacci (Energy / TM), Jan Midrla (Birel / TM) and Simone Brenna (TB Kart / Modena) behind them, the first three on new tyres, and only two new tyres for Brenna. Bray started impeccably and Brenna tried to force his way through, but Boccolacci resisted. Alexandre Arrue (Praga / Parilla) immediately took fourth position ahead of Riccardo Negro (DR / TM) and Midrla who lost positions. Thomas Laurent didn’t get started.

Bray pulled out a lead of three or four lengths, and Negro was forcing his way back to fourth, then third, while Boccolacci’s kart was soon to take off. Brenna fell to 10th, Arrue 8th. On lap our Boccolacci was into his stride, and Midrla took Schmitz for fourth. It was a disaster for Paul David (Tony Kart / Vortex) who was out in the grass with Radim Maxa (Praga / Parilla) on lap six. Boccolacci attacked Negro for second. Loris Spinelli (CRG / TM) took fifth place ahead of Kristijan Habulin (CRG / Modena).

At the front Negro started to attack Bray, while a group of six drivers had formed. On lap 11 out of 20, Boccolacci surprised Negro under braking at the pylon and Spinelli also took the opportunity to take third. The young French driver was now close to Bray who already seemed to defend his position. But Spinelli picked off Boccolacci under braking, before attacking the leader. He left an opening at the hairpin by the campsite and took the lead with Boccolacci in his wake.

On lap 18 Boccolacci braked very late at the hairpin after the start, Spinelli lost time and Arrue took advantage of this, taking third between Bray and Negro. The last lap was intense for third place. It was an incredible victory for Boccolacci, 2nd to Arrue and third for Spinelli, making up the podium for the International Super Cup. The leader from the start, Bray finished fourth despite his fastest time in the race, Negro 5th, Schmitz 6th.
