The first row of the final of the KF Junior International Super Cup was Jehan Daruvala (FA Kart / Vortex) and Robert Shwartzman (Tony Kart / TM), followed by Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) and Mick Betsch (Tony Kart / Vortex) after the 10″ penalty imposed on Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) which brought him down from the 3rd to the 16th position. The 18° shown by the thermometer was hardly felt because of a fresh breeze.

There was a beautiful start Gabriel Aubry (Birel / TM), second behind Daruvala. Norris was 3rd, Betsch 4th ahead of Dean MacDonald (Kosmic / TM) and Ross Martin ( SWRD / TM). Shwartzman was only 18th. Aubry was then subject to the will of the fastest drivers, Norris and Betsch. Norris took the lead on the third round, ahead of Daruvala and Betsch. We were following Ticktum’s comeback, already 5th on the fourth lap. Shwartzman and Beckmann gave up. Starting from the last row, Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) also rose through the field and was in the top 10 on lap 5.

Ticktum went into second position from the sixth lap ahead of Betsch. A duel between the RFM drivers looked like deciding the victory. Aubry and Ahmed dropped out. Daruvala didn’t attempt to to attack Betsch again. Another interesting recovery was from the only French driver remaining in the race, Arthur Lehouck (Tony Kart / TM) who started 19th and was currently 12th. Ticktum gradually reduced the gap on the leader Norris. He attacked and passed on lap 14, under braking for one of the two hairpins. Norris replied on the next lap under very late braking. Daruvala joined his teammates, while Betsch observed remotely.

Ticktum attacked Norris at another braking point and passed. Daruvala then tried to attack Norris who didn’t let it go. Ticktum was sheltered from any threat when we went into the final lap . He won by 1.2″ ahead of Norris, who was closely followed by Daruvala and Betsch. MacDonald finished fifth, Martin 6th and Lorandi 7th .
