Ortona KFJ Prefinal 1: Ticktum wins

KFJ started prefinal 1 with Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) on pole, Parker Thompson (Energy / TM) at his side, Matteo Raspatelli (Tony Kart / Parilla) and Alexander Vartanyan (Tony Kart / Vortex) on the second row. Max Defourny (Kosmic / TM) returned to the pits, faced with a transmission problem. IT turned out not to be too bad, so he caught the pack on the third lap. Starting from the outside, the pole-sitter headed his line past the inside line. So Ticktum was in the lead after the first lap ahead of Vartanyan, Petru Florescu (Tony Kart / Vortex), Thompson fourth, Bryan Elpitiya (Energy / TM) fifth, Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex) sixth and Niko Kari (FA Kart / Vortex) 7th. Florescu took second place and Elpitiya went fourth ahead of his teammate Thompson, while Kari and Norris duelled.

Ticktum escaped from Vartanyan who retook Florescu. Thompson dropped to 11th, visibly annoyed by a problem with the machine. He retired on the next lap. Kari then attacked Elpitiya for 4th place, then Norris passed. Jules Bollier (Kosmic / Parilla) was 12th. Defourny was coming up from the back. He was 15th by lap 7. There was a battle for seventh position between Raspatelli and Giuliano Raucci (Energy / TM). It was a clear victory without a hitch for Ticktum, Vartanyan second, Florescu 3rd and Kari coming in fourth position ahead of Norris 5th, Elpitiya 6th, and Raspatelli 7th. Bollier qualified with 12th and Defourny managed to finish 15th after starting last. The meeting is over for Thompson, Beckmann and Fewtrell.
