The qualifying heats for the Rotax Euro Challenge at PFI saw some significant changes to the qualifying order. In Junior, the pole sitter Josh Price (Tony Kart – Price Racing) retired in a heat and is just 13th while Connor Hall (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing) now leads the standings with his two victories. He is followed in second position by Philip Rawson (FA Kart – Dan Holland Racing) and in 3rd place by Guan Zhou Yu (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing). Second on the clock, Thomas Preining (Tony Kart – Protrain Racing) is only 17th. Jack Bartholomew (Tony Kart – Coles Racing) failed to rectify the situation, he is still only 27th, while Lars Lamborelle (Gillard – DFK) needs to go through the repechage.
Harry Webb (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing) took control in Rotax Senior from Pierce Lehane (FA Kart – Dan Holland Racing) and Philip Morin (FA Kart – Dan Holland Racing) who was the polesitter. There was a big rise for Charlie Eastwood (Tony Kart – Strawberry Racing) from 17th to 5th place. Jules Cousin (FA Kart – Kart DSS), in 21st, is the only French driver directly qualified, as Anthoine Barthon (FK – FK AB Racing Team) has to go through the repechage, an event in which Cecilia Martini (Sodi – Martini Racing Kart) is also in, a little further back.
In DD2 Ben Cooper (Birel – KMS Europe) who stole the show with Xen De Ruwe (FK – FK AB Racing Team) just behind, while Sean Babington (FA Kart – Dan Holland Racing) also returned in the racing in third position ahead of Mika Laiho (Tony Kart – Racing MPT) and Alessandro Manetti (Praga – Josh Hart Racing). There was a beautiful performance from the Omani driver Sanad Al Rawahi (DR – Msport Karting) ranked 12th just behind Simas Juodvirsis (Energy – Energy Racing LT). The only French driver in the class, Alexander Finkelstein (Tony Kart – MD Competition), is in 21st and has had better days.
