The heat started to become oppressive at mid-day on the Ortona circuit when the KF Junior went out for their first qualifying session. Alessio Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) failed to start, he found himself in last position. Drivers waited until the very last moment to take to the track to put in two fast laps. Daniel Ticktum (FA Kart / Vortex) was very much ahead of the lot with a time of 57” 896 leaving his teammate Enaam Ahmed (FA Kart / Vortex) behind by 0.154”. Bryan Elpitiya (Energy / TM) set the third fastest time ahead of Petru Florescu (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Alexander Vartanyan (Tony Kart / Vortex). Gabriel Aubry (Birel / TM) was 8th ahead of Matteo Raspastelli (Tony Kart / Parilla).
Max Fewtrell (FA Kart / Vortex) took pole in the second session at the last minute with a time of 58” 378, ahead of two Brazilians, Giuliano Raucci (Energy / TM) and Sergio Sette Camara (ART GP / TM). Martijn Van Leeuwen (Zanardi / Parilla) took fourth place ahead of Lando Norris (FA Kart / Vortex). Max Defourny (Kosmic / TM) was 9th and Jules Bollier (Kosmic / Parilla) 19th.
Robert Shwartzmann (Tony Kart / TM) won the third session with 58” 261 against Parker Thompson (Energy / TM), Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Parilla) and Marta Garcia Lopez (Zanardi / BMB ), the top female at this level, while Sophia Floersch (Tony Kart / Vortex) was fifth by just over a tenth.
Overall, the top six were from the first session. The pole went to Ticktum from Ahmed and Elpitiya the top French driver. Florescu came fourth, Vartanyan and Chaimongkol 5th and 6th. The seventh was from the third session, Shartzmann followed in eighth position by Thompson. Gabriel Aubry (Birel / TM) was in 12th position ahead of Matteo Raspatelli (Tony Kart / Parilla). The leader of the second session, Fewtrell was only 14th overall while the Championship leader Norris found himself in 27th position.
