The track conditions changed between two periods of drizzle at Genk as expected for timed practice for the 2013 Academy Trophy. Positions changed on each lap so the fastest lap was at very end of the session for the Turkish driver Berkay Besler on 56” 206. 16th in the Trophy in 2012, he also has extensive experience in Rotax Junior, is currently ranked 12th in the Euro Challenge, having debuted in 60 Mini.

 

The final lap cost Belgian Maxime Potty the lead of the session, and he finished second by 0.06s. Adeline Prudent and Gautier Becq, who were second and third, ended up 10th and 11th, and the Indonesian driver Presley Martono seized third place ahead of the French driver Nathan Hédouin.
