CIK President in Wackersdorf

Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, President of the Commission Internationale de Karting (CIK), awarded the winners of the first round of the CIK-FIA European KZ and KZ2 Championship, held at Wackersdorf, Germany over the weekend.

First place in the KZ class was won by Dutchman Max Verstappen. His countryman Bas Lammers was the runner-up, while Italian Marco Ardigo came third. In the KZ2 category, German Riccardo Negro was the victor. Finishing narrowly behind him was Italian Marco Zanchetta, while third was Swede Joel Johansson.

While in Wackersdorf, Shaikh Abdulla met with scores of officials, teams, drivers and karting enthusiasts. He also met with WSK promoter Mr. Luca and discussed the cooperation and future plan between Cik and WSK. During the drivers parade, CIK president greeted all participating drivers and wished them a good and safe race.

Shaikh Abdulla said that Bahrain is looking forward to hosting later this year the CIK-FIA World KF Championship and the CIK-FIA World KF-Junior Championship, both to be held in November.
