Racing was intense in the second final for KZ2 at Sarno. There was a merciless fight between the leaders and incredible recoveries from top drivers who had dropped back, so there was no reason to be bored. Paolo De Conto (Birel / TM) took the lead during the first two laps before losing ground, then retired. Charles Leclerc (ART GP / TM) then took the lead for most of the race. Jérémy Iglesias (Lenzo / LKE) gave up prematurely when he was third. From second, Jorrit Pex (CRG / TM) dropped to 5th and in 4th was Riccardo Negro (DR / TM), who set off in pursuit of the leader with Bas Lammers (Intrepid / TM) and Fabian Federer (CRG / Modena) following. The latter would later get a black flag after a technical problem.

Meanwhile, Ben Hanley (ART GP / TM) was inside the top 10, followed by Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Max Verstappen (CRG / TM). Leclerc could do nothing to resist Negro who took control on the 13th of 15 laps. Pex then grabbed third position, Hanley and Lammers were fighting for 4th and Ardigo, the fastest, finished sixth. In 7th position, Verstappen gained 23 places from the start! This is the first win at this level for Riccardo Negro ahead of the seeded regulars in KZ1.
