WSK Euro Series: Zanchetta takes over lead in KZ2

The first half of the season is over and WSK paddock is now getting ready for the two remaining rounds, with drivers who need to widen the gap and other drivers who – on the contrary – need to achieve remarkable recoveries. WSK Promotion European kart racing is moving to Sarno (Italy), on 21st April, then – on 2nd June – the closing round of Genk (Belgium). Let’s have a look at the standings after the first round of Muro Leccese and the half-season Spanish round, run in Zuera.

Zanchetta takes over lead in KZ2. Marco Zanchetta (Maranello-TM-Bridgestone), winner of Final 2 in the first round of La Conca, was not the KZ2 leader at the beginning of the Spanish round. The leader, in fact, was the other Italian Riccardo Negro (DR-TM-Bridgestone), who, in Zuera, was not able to fend off Zanchetta’s attacks. Zanchetta won both the finals and took over standings lead with 145 points, while Negro is second with 104. The duel between the two Italian drivers could have another protagonist in the forthcoming round in Sarno: the Czech Jan Midrla, (Birel-TM-Bridgestone), who has had a consistent pace so far and he is third with 80 points. The other drivers have wider gaps, but the top drivers should keep an eye on them anyway, especially on the Swedish Joel Johansson and the Lithuanian Simas Juodvirsis (both on Energy-TM-Bridgestone).
