2013: AVG Looks Great in Birel Red!

AVG Racing team’s performances during the first two competitions under Birel’s banner this season have been pretty good for the new Dutch team. Under the Italian company’s structure newly decorated in red, all the eyes were turned to Arnaud Kozlinski, the lead driver of the team. «Everything is going well, considering that it is the beginning of the season!» the 2009 World Champion explained. «We are making progress as far as chassis set-up is concerned with Bridgestone tyres, but temperatures are still too cool to be able to draw significant lessons. As for engines, it is not bad at all, the TM company has done a good job for the new homologation, the KZ10B has started off on the right foot!»

Koko started by taking the pole position in the Winter Cup timed qualifying, and then he was hampered not very elegantly during the race. He continued to battle in the top 5 at the WSK Euro Series in La Conca but suffered a spectacular accident, though without serious consequences, in Final 2. This year, Dylan Davies will be with him in KZ1 on a First chassis – a product that Birel is going to promote at high level – with which he will start his competition training together with the world elite of karting.

Marijn Kremers, a young Dutch driver who comes straight from KF3, has made his debut in KZ2 together with the French Champion Maxime Roy. These two drivers are currently in the top 10 of the category, with the ambition of doing better very soon. Looking ahead to the rest of the season in red, the Team Principal Anton Van Grunsven has every reason to smile confidently!
