Verstappen: Victory Escapes Him in Las Vegas

Max Verstappen and his CRG equipped with a TM engine had only one problem during the 16th edition of the Las Vegas Supernationals, but it came at the worst time. When his ignition started to fail on the fourth lap of the KZ2 final, the Dutch driver was leading the race. It must be said that up till then he had largely dominated the race against the best world drivers, all far more experienced than he is. Without that minor mechanical problem, he would have been cruising to victory on his first participation.

Verstappen took pole position in timed qualifying and then conquered three victories in a row in the qualifying heats, and every time he was the fastest on the track. In the meanwhile, Jorrit Pex (CRG/TM) was regularly in the top 5 and finally took the 5th step of the podium, while the US driver Fritz Leesmann (CRG/Maxter) moved up from 12th to 7th in the final.
