Sarno: Verstappen flies in the lead of the KZ2 Prefinal

Max Verstappen (CRG / TM) didn’t not miss the start and took the lead in the prefinal in KZ2, Daniel Bray (GP / TM) attacked at the parabolic, but got in the way and caused a big muddle behind him. Jordon Lennox-Lamb and Felice Tiene (CRG / Maxter) lost places, down to 6th and 7th. Müller, Celenta and Brenna couldn’t pass. Simas Juodvirsis (Energy / TM) made a great start and was in the top 5.

Verstappen retained control on the second time round the parabolic, Jan Midrla (Birel / TM) also benefited from passing Bray. Then Mirko Torsellini (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 4th and Lennox passed for 5th. The British driver quickly took the Italian for 4th. Bray passed for second place on the fifth lap over Midrla.

Verstappen was alone in the lead and set the fastest time. He had almost a 2” lead by mid-race. Lennox was third, while in 20th Tiene had dropped back in the battle. The gaps were clear at the front and they stopped changing positions at the end with victory clearcut for Verstappen, who was fastest ahead of Torsellini and Lennox. Midrla finished fourth ahead of Norway’s Emil Antonsen (DR / TM) who took sixth position from the 14th on the grid. 7th was Philip Orcic (Zanardi / TM), 8th was Riccadro Negro (DR / TM), ninth Kenneth Ostvold (Energy / TM) and 10th Andrea Fasberg (Tony Kart / Vortex). Tiene was 14th in front Juodvirsis, Öberg was 19th.
