DR Racing Kart barely missed the WSK Euro Series KZ2 title this weekend at Zuera. Its kart performances have kept improving since the beginning of the season and reached their top level, with Riccardo Negro and Stefan Riener setting the fastest lap times during the two finals. Overall, international championship results have been positive for the Italian team.
“For Negro, it would have been more difficult to lose than to win” explained Danilo Rossi. “Perhaps he felt under too much pressure, in some ways, and he was no longer able to drive as well as he usually does. As for us, we are totally satisfied with kart performances and with Riener’s progress“.
Indeed, the young Austrian Stefan Riener, who made his debut in KZ2, concluded each final in the top 5, while Negro took the second place in the 2012 WSK Euro Series standings. In KF3, the French driver Erwan Julé had three very convincing heats before he was eliminated in the pre-final after a collision. He has a very good potential for the World Cup. In the meanwhile, the Russian Maxim Kim did fairly well on his debut in KF2, for his first race in this class.
