The first event of the 2012 CIK-FIA World KF1 Championship will be held on 19 and 20 May in Japan, on this Suzuka circuit where the 2011 world season came to a close. No fewer than 38 Drivers are ready to compete in this prestigious event.

We might as well say that the positions will be fiercely contested and that there will be a close fight to gain one’s place amongst the 34 Drivers who will make it to the finals (2 on Saturday and 2 additional ones on Sunday) further to the qualifying series (3 heats on Saturday and 3 on Sunday). Will the best European Drivers or the best Japanese ones be able to take the best advantage of their equipment through qualifying practice and heats so as to shine and reach the highly-coveted podium? Unless the weather conditions, like last year, change the face of the competition.

In the KF2 category, the Karting hopefuls’ class, some 30 Drivers will fight it out in order to try to land the Asia-Pacific KF2 Champion title, thus succeeding Japan’s Arata Saeki. In this class also there is a big uncertainty and it will be difficult to tip the winner. In any case the competitors will put up a good show.
