Affected, like many others, by an unidentified sickness at the start of the Sarno meeting, Beitske Visser managed with all her willpower to muster her strength to face particularly difficult weather conditions at the first WSK Euro Series round.
In addition to the heavy rain that fell during the weekend, constantly changing weather conditions made adjustment work extremely complicated for the Intrepid Driver Program team. Beitske got to Naples after her good result in Belgium, the previous week, at the BNL Karting Series held at Genk, but she confessed she still had little experience in such heavy rain.
“I am happy I have continued to progress throughout the weekend. On Saturday, my Intrepid/TM worked well and I concluded in the top 5 of Final 1. On Sunday morning, finding the right setup turned out to be more difficult and I really had a hard time in the two qualification heats. Luckily everything went back to normal in Final 2 and I could focus on driving on the soaked track and try to avoid making mistakes. Climbing up from 21st to 9th in those conditions is definitely a good performance! Now I know what rain really is!“
Beitske is currently 6th in the WSK Euro Series standings, but now she will get back to single-seaters for the second round of the Adac Formel Masters at Zandvoort, in her homelands, on the first weekend of May.
