New Team for Felix Nilsson

For Felix Nilsson the 2012 season will be in blue, red and white, the colours of Energy Corse official team, which he has joined for a new year in KF3 with a higher level of ambition. His baptism of fire was in Lonato last weekend, at the Winter Cup.

Results in this first meeting were not as good as expected, but that happened because despite his very good performance, the results did not follow. The Swedish driver is in good form, this is for sure, and the Energy/TM kart is performing well, no doubt about that. However, a few drawbacks disrupted Nilsson’s good performance. Felix, who was 30th in timed qualifying, took a 5th row start for the qualifications and recovered ground, setting times close to the leaders.

But he had to face quite a few problems: a collision and subsequent delay in the second heat, despite his third fastest lap time, and a withdrawal after just two laps in the fifth heat. As a consequence, he had to go through the repechage. This last chance race, held in the rain on a very slippery track, did not go exactly at best and Felix had to face excessive nervousness on the part of some of his competitors; this stopped him from achieving a qualification that would have been well-deserved.

But Felix has an excellent card to play this season: his speed behind the wheel of his new Energy/TMn. He is already on the starting block for next meeting, to be held in just a few days time at La Conca, in the WSK Master Series.
