The weather was still overcast, but remained dry for the race on Sunday afternoon. Competitors in KZ2 were first on track, all on slicks for their pre-final. The greasy and slippery tarmac caused a lot of slides, and the starting grid was already difficult for the mechanics. Jonathan Thonon (CRG / Maxter) slid on the inside line and Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) flew. His dominion was sadly short-lived: he retired up a few corners later, with a bent axle after contact with Davide Fore (CRG / Maxter). Thonon took the lead followed by Ben Hanley (ART PM / TM) and Yannick De Brabander (Formula K / TM). Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / Maxter) was a great success and passed both Hanley and Fore in the same corner!

De Brabander made a mistake under braking, Mirko Torsellini (CRG / Maxter) took fourth from Fore, Marco Zanchetta (Energy / TM) and Kozlinski (PCR / TM). Abbasse closed on the leader, Thonon, but as the laps went on his machine lost performance, probably because of too high tire pressures. Hanley, then Torsellini passed him. De Brabander took Kozlinski to gain 5th place while Thonon stayed in the lead with ease. Alex Baron (Sodi / Maxter) was unable to participate in the race because of a strained leg after a bad fall.
