Starting from ninth, Loris Spinelli (Formula K / TM) won the repechage in KZ2 at the Winter Cup, his first race in the category. The weather remained cloudy but dry at Lonato. There was a great race from Kenneth Ostvold (Energy / Vortex), third from seventh, followed by Zdenek Groman (Kosmic / Vortex) who started 11th, in an agressive style. The best performance was credited to Kevin Illgen (DR / TM) who came from 28th to 5th.
But the race was disrupted by the crash of Christophe Benoit (Birel / TM), fortunately not serious, which required the application of the “slow” procedure for many laps. Shortly before the restart, the provisional leader, Lukas Trettenbrein (RK / BMB) lost his exhaust and despite his efforts to reattach it, he had to give up. A little later, helped by a malicious competitor, Paolo De Conto (Birel / BMB) went off before the restart of the race and gave up, losing the benefit of his 6th place which would have qualified him.
