Paul Grainger (Tony Kart – Tatum Racing) was the most incisive driver at the start of the prefinal at Campillos in DD2, but Xen De Ruwe (Formula K – K Formula Europe) was not impressed. He controlled his opponent before taking the lead and ending up more than 3 seconds ahead. In the pack, the race was not monotonous. Grainger faced the threat of Lucas Orrock (Kosmic – Paul Carr Racing) before the Belgian Jules Szymkowiak (Zanardi – G-Star Raw Racing) who emerged from 19th on the grid, and took second place ahead of Kevin Lüdi (Birel – Spirit Racing). Mario Vendla (Birel – Kartdago) finished fourth on the line by attacking Grainger, who clashed on the line with the 6th placed Orrock. Antoine Lepesqueux was at the back after starting 11th and then lost four places.
