Young Mirko Torsellini finished in beauty a 2011 season during which he was able to show his talent like never before within the CRG team. Entering unexpectedly the S1 category at the famous SuperNationals of Las Vegas, he achieved a great victory on his first participation in the American meeting.

Due to a delay that stopped Maxter Tec-Sav engines at the Customs Mirko, who had come to race in KZ2, preferred to chose the safest option and at the last minute entered S1, a 100% US category where Honda 125 gearbox engines are used, not much different from KZ. As soon as Torsellini became familiar with the features of the temporary circuit created in the parking lot of the Rio hotel in Las Vegas, he fully exploited the performances of his CRG chassis to make the difference. Starting from the front row in the final, he quickly took off to cross the finishing line as winner with a lead of several seconds over his opponents.

His performance is even more remarkable considering that Torsellini also raced in KZ2, when the engines finally arrived. Starting off a bit back due to the little time available for practice, Mirko was hit in a heat, but recovered in the following ones thanks to his excellent competitiveness. Unfortunately he was forced to retire in the final for technical problems.
