GPO Essay Qualifying: Aubry on pole!

After a year in which he ran mostly in Cadet, Gabriel Aubry decided to spend the end of the season in KF3 to prepare for 2012. At the wheel of his Birel-TM, he surprised by winning the pole position in front of Dorian Boccolacci (Birel-TM) and Jeremy Demarque (Sodi-Parilla). The three fastest drivers from the warm-up were therefore confirmed during the qualifying session during the final weekend of the GPO series. Esteban Ocon (FA Kart-Vortex), the championship leader, was fourth, three places ahead of those who can still deprive him of the crown, namely Etienne Mordret (Zanardi-Parilla). The latter was beaten by his teammate Bryan Elpitiya and Valentin Moineault (Sodi-Parilla).

In KF2, Anthoine Hubert (Sodi-Parilla) finished ahead of Championship leader Victor Sendin (Tony-Vortex) by six small hundredths. Guillaume De Ridder (Kosmic-Vortex) was also on the pace. During this timed session, Leo Roussel (Sodi-Parilla) and Pascal Belmaaziz (DR-Parilla) were two tenths back, respectively fourth and fifth, to be close to the top three.

In KZ2, the two Sodi-Maxters of Charles Fiault and Anthony Abbasse ensured their place at the forefront of the pre-final, with a small gap of 78 mils between the two drivers. Thomas Mich (Birel-TM) was sandwiched with two other Sodi-Maxters behind him, Alexander Baron and Pierre Ragues. It was a good sixth for Nicolas Harmuth (Mirage-Maxter) from Antony Tardieu (Monza-TM).

The last GPO of the 2011 season is well and truly started on the beautiful circuit of Essay …
