The jury of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission took the right decision when selecting Lucile Cypriano as its ambassador for the 2011 CIK-FIA Kartzing Academy Trophy: the young female French driver took the pole-position in the Qualifying practice by 3 thousands of a second in front of Spain’s Diego Rodriguez.

The East European drivers proved strong and are taking advantage of the opportunity they get to compete with equal chances against drivers coming from 43 different countries : Estonia’s Martin Rump set the 3rd fastest time, Russia’s Vsevolod Gagen the 4th, Albania’s Aleksander Ndrio the 7th and Ukraine’s Oleksandr Tkachenko the 8th. Holland’s Marijn Kremers and Austria’s Florian Janits appear on positions 5 and 6.

The Academy drivers will run all their heats later today. The overall classification established after these heats will determine the 28 drivers who will qualify for the two final races which will take place tomorrow afternoon. All the drivers classified beyond position 28 will run a B-Final tomorrow as well.
