A crash on a big area of rubber upsets the order during the second rolling lap and Russell lost out by a lot in the incident. At the lights, Fuoco and Olsen were at the front followed by Ocon. Russell crossed the line in 19th place.

Ocon attacked Fuoco on the second lap, but the maneuver did not succeed and Lance Stroll sneaked into second position while Esteban was now followed by Kim Oomen, Fuoco, Vita and Piccini. In 8th, Charles Leclerc retired in the 5th round. Piccini fell to 11th place. Dorian Boccolacci (Birel / BMB) passed Russell to take 15th. Stroll slowly approached the leader Olsen, and Ocon was soon joined by a chasing group containing Fuoco, Oomen and Vita. Olsen tried to respond to the threat from Stroll, but the Canadian also got faster, while Boccolacci set the fastest time on lap 10.

Olsen control the race until his term pocketed a victory against the faster and younger Stroll. Ocon was on the third step of the podium after a very rewarding race. Fuoco finished fourth, Oomen 5th, Nielsen sixth.
