Imperial Peretti in National

The National Final increased the suspense at the GPO while preparing for the start under the famous sun that was dear to Napoleon. After a great start for Marco De Peretti (Kosmic) the lead was not fiercely contested. In contrast there was a battle for 2nd position between Sephora Lorenzo (Birel), Mathias Vaison (Tony Kart), William Westerloppe (Birel) and others. Vaison took the position, while Lorenzo in fifth fell behind Maxime Vayrou (Tony Kart).

De Peretti had more than 3 seconds of a lead on lap 4, Vaison and Westerloppe detached themselves in front of Vayrou. The leader lapped three tenths faster than the competition. Much faster, Vayrou attacked Lorenzo and retook 4th. In 7th place, Maxime Bidard (CRG) upset the field.

At the halfway point, De Peretti was 5.4” ahead of Vaison and his supporters went wild. However, Lorenzo had just passed for third and was closer to Vaison in a big step. Contact was established on the 15th of 21 laps. We saw a group behind Vaison which could prove interesting for the end of the race. Victim of a retirement in the pre-final, due to the motor cutting out, the pole sitter Anthony Jouvenceaux (Tony Kart) made a good comeback, up to 10th.

Imperiously, De Peretti went over the line as the dominant winner, almost 10 seconds ahead second place. But the last lap was heated. Vaison attacked Lorenzo who retaliated, but both drivers lost places. Westerloppe had the opportunity to pick up 2nd and 3rd was Vayrou. Francisco Javier Venegas (Sodi) finished 4th in front of Vaison, then Carpentier and Bidard. Lorenzo finished 14th.
