Starting alongside pole man Laurent Marchandise, Emmanuel Vinuales went into the lead on the opening lap and stayed there throughout the race, despite considerable pressure exerted up to the half race distance by Gavin Bennett. But the Champion was the victim of carburettor problems which saw him drop down the order and out of the top 10. Behind Vinuales, the battle for 2nd place was fought right down to the very last lap when Daniel Hentschel eventually passed Laurent Marchandise. However 3rd place for the Frenchman represented an excellent showing for the young man racing in only his 2nd Superkart event. Cyril Vayssie was classified 4th, a position held by Peter Elkmann until mechanical problems forced him out on the very last lap. With a strong second place and a race win, Vinuales now leads the European Superkart Championship ahead of Daniel Hentschel. The next event is on 11-12 June at Most in the Czech Republic.
